The Spring 2016 updates to the
PracticeWise information resources are now available online.
Resource Updates
The PracticeWise Evidence Based
Services Database (PWEBS) now covers over 870 research papers. It was a busy
period in terms of treatment families with Strength of Evidence levels modified.
Here is the brief summary:
Anxiety
A new variant of Cognitive Behavior
Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Music Therapy, was introduced as a
treatment family and achieved Good Support (Level 2)
Attention
Behavioral Sleep Intervention was
introduced as a treatment family and achieved Good Support (Level 2)
Cognitive Behavior Therapy and
Medication improved to achieve Good Support (Level 2)
Parent Management Training and
Classroom Behavior Management and Executive Functioning Training was introduced
as a treatment family and achieved Good Support (Level 2)
Executive Functioning Training was
introduced as a treatment family and achieved No Support (Level 5)
Autism
Cognitive Behavior Therapy improved to
achieve Best Support (Level 1)
Joint Attention/Engagement was
introduced as a treatment family and achieved Best Support (Level 1). The
introduction of Joint Attention/Engagement coincided with restructuring study
protocol assignments to a number of other treatment families, but these
protocols use a variety of tasks, exercises, and strategies to facilitate shared
attentional focus, reciprocal communication, and responsive interactions.
Executive Functioning Training was
introduced as a treatment family and achieved No Support (Level 5)
Depression
Client Centered Therapy improved to
achieve Best Support (Level 1)
Problem Solving improved to achieve
Good Support (Level 2)
Cognitive Behavior Therapy and
Behavioral Sleep Intervention, Parent Management Training, and Parent
Management Training and Emotion Regulation were introduced as a treatment
families and achieved No Support (Level 5)
Disruptive Behavior
Collaborative Problem Solving improved
to achieve Good Support (Level 2)
Parent Management Training and Social
Skills was introduced as a treatment family and achieved Good Support (Level 2)
Eating
Cognitive Behavior Therapy with Parents
was introduced as a treatment family and achieved No Support (Level 5)
Substance Use
Therapeutic Vocational Training was
introduced as a treatment family and achieved No Support (Level 5)
Suicidality
Cognitive Behavior Therapy was
introduced as a treatment family and achieved No Support (Level 5)
We continue to expand our collection of
online courses and have more courses on the way. Similarly, we periodically
post new files and community contributions in the Clinical Dashboard library. Please
keep in mind that these are provided as options and examples, and the
availability of new Clinical Dashboard versions does not indicate a change in
standards or requirements.
