Course Structure:
This course consists of three online learning modules that include instructional videos and progress questions. The learning modules are followed by a posttest and course evaluation. The Support Networking practice guide is also included with the course. A continuing education certificate is available for download after successful completion of the course.
Learning Objectives:
Define Support Networking and recognize why it is useful for increasing access to resources and social supports.
Describe two theories that provide rationale for how Support Networking can reduce people’s social isolation and stress.
Explain Support Networking to various stakeholders (e.g., caregivers, teachers), including how it is used to identify and recruit others who can provide resources and support to the youth or family.
Identify four types of support a youth or family can seek via Support Networking and provide examples of each.
Show how Support Networking can be used in a variety of scenarios to target the specific support needs of different youths and families.
